Latinos represent the largest ethnic/racial minority group in the United States. The increases in this population have stirred old anti-immigrant sentiments in communities all across the country. The church often finds itself in the middle of these tensions, trying to respond to the needs of the marginalized while addressing the concerns of the larger population. The goal of this presentation is to provide an overview of the current immigration experiences of Latinos in the USA and the impact of acculturation on children and families, shed light on the many challenges, and discuss interventions that can assist leaders in churches and service organizations meet the needs of immigrant and refugee families around the world.
